Two ways to screen

Option A

Ticketed

Your audience buys tickets

$0 upfront cost to you

Kinema sells tickets through its own platform
You set the ticket price ($15 suggested)
Revenue splits 45% to you, 45% to the filmmakers, 10% to Kinema

Option B

Flat license

Free for your audience

Starting at $75 upfront

You pay one licensing fee and the screening is free to attend
Fee is based on venue capacity:
Up to 25 people — $75
Up to 100 people — $150
Up to 250 people — $350
Over 250 people — $500
Nonprofits receive roughly 25–33% off

Start to finish

Three steps to host

Plan your screening

Choose a date and a venue — a theater, a church hall, a classroom, a backyard. Decide whether you'll ticket it (Option A) or make it free with a license (Option B).

A venue just needs a screen or projector and decent sound. That's it.

Create the event on Kinema

Click "Create Screening Event" and fill in each step — date, venue, capacity, and your choice of ticketed or flat license. Keep going all the way through: the exact price appears at the end before you confirm anything.

Nothing is charged until you've reviewed everything and said yes.

Host it

Once your event is approved — usually within two business days — you'll get the film and everything you need to show it. Invite your people and press play.
